Aerial Yoga, Scarf Yoga, AntiGravity Yoga or Bat Yoga

All terms describe the same kind of yoga. A hybrid of classical hatha yoga and a kind of cloth acrobatics.

The elastic cloths are attached to the ceiling of the room and hung up to form a kind of swing, in which one can float about 1 meter above the floor in a variety of asanas.

Some exercises give you the feeling of floating or flying. It is a feeling of weightlessness and lightness.

In some exercises, letting go and primal trust are very much encouraged and strengthened. Especially with the overhead exercises, the process of letting go and basic trust can be scary, but once that part is overcome, there is an incredibly great feeling of flying.

It was unbelievable that all this was possible in only about 50 minutes without any prior knowledge. For me it will not have been the last time to do Arial Yoga.
